Plug In and Play is a collaboration between the National Videogame Museum and Children’s Capital of Culture to create Rotherham’s very first videogame trail. The event took place in eight locations throughout Rotherham town centre during October half term 2024.

As a part of the project Creative Producer, Alex Johansson, used a free game making platform called Bitsy to recreate the layout of Grimm & Co’s creative story writing emporium building in Rotherham.

Participants on the trail have designed magical creatures to inhabit this digital recreation, and you can interact with them here within a playable game. If you took part in the activity at Grimm & Co during the Plug In & Play trail, you may discover  your creature.

Explore Grimm & Co and meet the magical creatures who live there. Use the arrow keys to move around and walk up to each sprite to interact with them. Move into the next room by following the marked arrows.
